I will begin by explaining how all the types of electrolysis work, the various needles that can be used, and how our hair grows and the possible influences. I'll answer any questions or concerns then I will assess the skin and hair in the area. Once I'm able to see the hair then I will be able to determine the best type of electrolysis and needle to start off with. This determination will adjust as your hair changes and/or your reaction.
Try to come in the best mood possible! Electrolysis can be a sensitive treatment depending on the area but having something to eat and drink (water) beforehand maybe even some Tylenol or Ibuprofen will help subside the sensitivity. You may also use various numbing agents but please clean and prep the area at least 30 minutes before coming in and be sure to cover the numbing agent with plastic wrap. Avoid caffeine and makeup prior to your appointment and always drink plenty of water and moisturize the area generously in the days preceding your treatment (this will help with sensitivity as well).
Try to stay in a cool, dry place after every appointment to ensure there is no further irritation. Avoid direct/prolonged sunlight, intense workouts, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, and makeup for at least 24-48 hours. Perhaps longer if you have very sensitive skin. Keep the area clean and do NOT touch, pick, or scratch and ALWAYS ice the area to further reduce redness and swelling.
